Vermec CHU-499 Deluxe Multi-Center Chuck

The Multi Centre Chuck Deluxe allows you to put details in your work that are not concentric with your lathe spindle. The amount of offset ( 0 -30mm ~ in 5mm Increments) is easily adjusted using a hex key and the amount of offset is visible in a viewing window on the chuck. Of course you can set the chuck offset to 0 and machine on centre as normal. (Using the chuck as a screw face plate.)

There are 2 different index windows, one that determines the offset and one for rotating the workpiece. Workpiece rotation index marks are 0, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 27, and 30, allowing you to index your job around in equal divisions to produce complex patterns and even square or triangular shapes. For example if you want 3 smaller circles evenly spaced (120° apart) inside a larger circle: start with index 0, then 12, then 24. 

0 = 0°
6 = 60°
9 = 90°
12 = 120°
18 = 180°
24 = 240°
27 = 270°
30 = 300°

2 equal devisions = 180°, 3 = 120°, 4 = 90°, 6 = 60°, Your imagination is the only limit to your design.

Important: NOT suitable for Mini and Midi sized Lathes. For this reason we only offer the chuck with an 1-1/4" x 8tpi insert (included).
